Cestal Plus is a broad spectrum anthelmintic for treatment and control of all common cestode and nematode infestions of dogs and puppies. CESTAL PLUS offers the possibility to kill all common tapeworms (incl. Echinococcus granulosus) and roundworms (incl. late immature forms of ascarids) simultaneously.

Cestal Plus consists of three anthelmintic compounds:

praziquantel - 50mg
pyrantel pamoate - 144mg
fenbendazole - 200mg per tablet

Praziquantel is the most effective and reliable drug against all kinds of tapeworms in dogs, having an excellent activity against Echinococcus granulosus, as well. It possess a wide margin of safety and can be given to puppies and pregnant bitches without any hazard.

Pyrantel pamoate is known to be highly effective against the common ascarids (Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina) and hookworms (Ancylostoma caninum, Uncinaria stenocephala) of dogs at a single oral dose, with only limited activity, however, against canine whipworms (Trichuris vulpis).

Fenbendazole, a newest benzimidazole compound, is actually the active metabolite of Febantel. It is active against Trichuris and exhibits, moreover, a mutual specific synergism with pyrantel pamoate against nematodes. This enables fenbendazole to exert its nematocide effect by a single dose and strengthens the efficacy of the product against all roundworm species, including Trichuris.
